A More Grown Up Scott

Given my past I understand why you think I was out last night for the Uconn-Butler game with my buddys getting hammered.  Actually I stayed home and watched the game with a friend.  I think it's time I grew up and became a better role model for my children and realised enjoying sports does not require alcohol.
Besides, after getting home at 3 am last weekend and making a pretty ugly scene in the bathroom I was grounded for the game by my wife.

  1. Ah the only thing tastier than a dumb jock is a dumb jock with a beer in front of him. You are amazing. Predictable and borderline pathetic. But amazing.

  3. ya........ my grandad did that once...... ewwwwww....

shit himself in the bathroom, then fell down into the tub, ended up getting blood and shit all over the place. but because he was already shitfaced, my grandmother left it like that until the next day and made him clean it anyway.

  4. In other words, prison has changed you?

The question becomes, will you adhere to this commitment of adulthood once theses shackles are lifted and you're free to mingle among the gen-pop again?

  6. LOL! Grounded by the wife. Maybe that would explain your disappearance.

  9. are you the same person you were a few weeks ago? a year ago when you started your first blog? i sure hope not. i hope we've all changed..grown up a little bit perhaps. don't try to be what you were, be who you are...a pretty authentic, snarky, self-effacing guy struggling w/ feelings he doesn't completely understand. use str8jock for what YOU need it to be...not for what someone else wants it to be. i for one am just glad i'm along for the ride.
    paxt tibi frater!
    cheers!

  10. Grumpy's saying the Warden put you in AdSeg (administrative segregation) due to misbehavior, that is, enforced adulthood, perhaps; soon you'll re-enter GenPopu (the general population). Will the adultness prevail? Hope I'm not overinterpreting! Welcome back, great to hear you.

  11. "I think it's time I grew up and became a better role model for my children...." A worthy goal. Congratulations on thinking ahead. It really is important. My kids are all pretty much grown up and none is in any kind of trouble. I doubt that would have happened if I had been hitting the bottle.

    Good for you.

Your kids will love you for being their dad and not resent you later for being some drunk creep.
